Our season: Pitta
-
Pitta imbalance (highest in summer), can result in diarrhea, skin irritations, odorous sweating, fever, inflammation, and a hypercritical or intense mental outlook. During this time, we want to incorporate balancing practices that cool and calm us. Avoiding caffeine, strenuous activity, and stressful environments, while incorporating cooling foods (e.g. cucumber and mint), calming meditations, and peaceful work, will all keep balance during these months.
-
All things cooling and detoxing for body and mind! Foods like juicy fruits, beets, cucumber, squash, dark greens, and digestive dressings (e.g., lime juice and mint) on light salads.
Hydrating and electrolyte-replenishing drinks with lime juice, mint, rose, fennel, tamarind. Try coconut water mixed with drinks. (no ice! room temp or slightly cooled)
-
At the spa - our cooling hibiscus body scrub and coconut milk wrap, rose and coconut oil massage, rose neem skincare, chilled aromatherapy towels, chilled masala chai with mint.
Moon bathing, early morning walks, slower yoga, calming meditation, and less heating cardio activity such as swimming.
